I’m Kate — and I’m proof that kids don’t have to slow you down.
Life is too short to put your dreams on hold. Having children didn’t shrink my world — it expanded it. Because the truth is, the most important things you’ll ever give your kids aren’t found inside four walls. They’re found out there.
I’m a Fort Worth, Texas mom to two wild, adventurous girls, and together we’ve explored more than 20 countries — from the cobblestone streets of Europe to the white sand beaches of the Caribbean and beyond.
When I started traveling with my kids, I didn’t have a roadmap. I had anxiety, overpacked bags, and a whole lot of hope. What I discovered on the other side was something I never expected: traveling with children isn’t just possible — it’s one of the most meaningful things you can do for your family.
Every trip gives them something a classroom can’t. Navigating airports and unfamiliar places teaches them patience. Unexpected situations build problem-solving skills and resilience. Meeting people from different cultures develops empathy, open-mindedness, and an awareness of the world beyond their own backyard. Every challenge they navigate — from ordering food in a foreign language to finding their way back to the hotel — builds a powerful sense of confidence and self-efficacy. And research backs it up: adults who traveled regularly as children went on to have above average grades, higher educational attainment, and higher than average incomes.

There is nothing quite like watching your child see the ocean for the first time, taste a new food, or navigate a world that looks nothing like home. It changes them. Honestly? It changes you too.

This is a space for real families — not the perfectly curated, everything-goes-smoothly kind, but the ones where someone spills something on the plane and you laugh about it later. I share the honest, unfiltered side of international family travel: what’s worth it, what to skip, and how to make it work no matter your budget, your kids’ ages, or how many meltdowns happen along the way.
Whether you’re planning your very first trip with a baby or you’re a seasoned family traveler looking for your next adventure — you’re in the right place
